Frances Christine Shaw Edgar

Frances Christine Shaw Edgar, 84, of Orange passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home.

She was born on December 9, 1936 in Columbia, Louisiana to her parents, Howard Shaw and Martha Roller Shaw. Frances was a resident of Groves for 42 years before moving to Orange in 2011. She worked at Delta Downs for a couple of years and was a professional embroider at Excel Screen Printing. Frances was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters and her two brothers, her husband , William “Bill” Edgar.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Frances “Ann” Guidry and her husband, Ray of Orange; her two sons, William “Chip” Edgar and his wife, Dede; Chad Douglas Edgar and his wife, Lauren all of Groves along with 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be on Monday March 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Immaculate Conception / St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
