A Life Remembered
Obituary
Floy Lee Eldridge
Floy Lee Eldridge, 97, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home Sunday, September 22, 2024. Born in Tyler, Texas, Floy was the 8th of 12 children of Agrippa and Bertha Reeves. Her greatest joy in life was giving to her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Jane Barron and husband, Charles, grandchildren, Kyler Eldridge, Janice Ryner, and Clay Barron, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her husband of 58 years, James Eldridge, son, Kelly Eldridge, parents, and 11 siblings.
Giving to others made her special to so many people. Her passion for cooking was unsurpassed and her kitchen was always open, especially when making pies. Her seamstress skills were immeasurable as evidenced by the quilts and bibs she made for local nursing homes.
Floy retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 30 years of service. She taught Sunday School at Central Baptist Church for many years, and was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church where she loved the Senior Friends activities every Tuesday.
May she be remembered as a strong, soft spoken, independent woman with a kind, giving heart. Her faith in God brings her home to her eternal resting place in His arms surrounded by her family.
