Obituary

Florence Ann Weddell, 94, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at her home.

She was born on November 2, 1925 to her parents, Coulson Davies and Ola Mae Hanson Davies in Orange, Texas. Florence has been a longtime resident of Port Arthur. She attended Port Arthur Business College. Florence was a devoted homemaker in raising her family. She was a member of Providence Church in Nederland and attended church at Trinity Presbyterian in Port Neches.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 65 years, James Weddell.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Beth Thompson and husband, Bryan of Nederland, her son, Michael J. Weddell of Port Arthur; her grandchildren, Kelli Johnson and husband, Brad of Highlands Ranch, Co., Kevin Thompson and wife, Julia of Lake Charles, La., Kristin Cook and husband, Brandon of Fulshear, Tx.; her great grandchildren, Brianna, Will, Emily and Luke Johnson, Hannah and Seth Thompson, Haley Martin, Finley and Asher Cook.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Florence’s life will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Adrienne with Harbor Hospice and Ruth with Visiting Angels for their loving care and devotion to her over the last few months
