Esther Guajardo Polanco

Esther Guajardo Polanco, 92, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 22, 1929 in Victoria, Texas to her parents, Donaciano Guajardo and Sarah Gonzalez Guajardo. Esther has been a resident of the area for over 56 years. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her family along with her husband, Cruz. Esther was a faithful member of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cruz G. Polanco and her two daughters, Margaret Morales and Diane Estorga.

Esther is survived by her two sons, Jimmie Polanco and his wife, Ana of Groves, Cruz Polanco, Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Port Arthur; her two daughters, Rosie Manriquez and her husband, Pete of Nederland, Frances Delgado and her husband, Rollie of Beaumont along with 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Henry Guajardo and his wife, Rebecca of Victoria, Ernest Guajardo and his wife, Margaret of Victoria as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

All visitors are required to wear face mask or facial coverings while attending the service.
