Emma Madrigal Jara

Emma Madrigal Jara, 90, of Groves passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at home.

Emma was born on February 22, 1931 in Tuxpan, Jalisco, Mexico. She had lived in Southeast Texas for 80 plus year and was a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. Emma enjoyed working in her garden, taking walks, going on vacation with her family and she loved to cook for family and friends. Emma was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Madrigal.

Emma is survived by her son, Stephen Jara Sr. and his wife, Patricia of Port Arthur, her daughters, Maggie Vera and her husband, Paul of Groves, Susan Jara of Groves, her sister, Soccorro Sanchez of Mexico. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephenie Alwine, Stephen Jara Jr., Christa Vera, Kaylen Vera and her great grandchildren, Caleb Alwine and Gavin Yera.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to prayed at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Thompson Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Honoring Emma as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
