Obituary

Emma Esqueda, 88, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Oak Grove Nursing Home.

Emma was born on May 15, 1931 in Brackettville, TX to parents Aurora (Rodriguez) and Jesus Davalos. She had been a resident of Groves for many years and a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and she had a great love for animals. Emma loved going dancing and having a good time, especially when she was the center of attention. Emma pride and joy was her family, who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Antancio Esqueda, her daughter, Linda Dolores Rodriguez, her son, Edward Esqueda, her sister and brother in law, Bertha and Joe Sandoval, her brother in law, Adolfo Cortez.

Those left to cherish Emma memory are her sons, Tony Esqueda and wife, Cecelia of Groves, Joe Esqueda and wife, Lana of Beaumont, Ernest Esqueda of Port Arthur, her daughters, Magdaline E. Orta and husband, Bobby of Orange, Maggie Segeada and husband, Juan of Port Arthur, her daughter in law, Markie Esqueda of Pensacola, FL., her brother, Jesus Davalos and wife, Linda of Canyon Lake, her sisters, Terri Fredrick and husband, Freddy of Brackettville, Oralia Cortez of Port Arthur. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and host of extended family.

Due to the Coronavirus-19 and the limited number of people at a gathering, the family will have a private graveside service under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
