Obituary
Douglas Patrick O’Neal, 67, of Groves passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Kindred Heights Hospital in Houston.
He was born on October 30, 1951 to his parents, James Robert O’Neal and Helen Golden O’Neal in Corpus Christi, Texas. Doug has been a resident of the area for over 40 years. He spent most of his career as an Insurance Agent with several companies with over 30 years of service. Doug worked with American Cemetery Consultants for the last four years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Groves.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Paula Mondello O’Neal of Groves, his two daughters, Christina Babineaux and husband, Neil of Nederland, Michelle Zimmerman and husband, Shawn of Grove, Oklahoma, his three grandchildren, Kade Joseph Babineaux, Emma Rose Zimmerman, Claire Josephine Zimmerman. He is also survived by his two sisters, Anita Messer and husband, Steve of Edmond, Oklahoma, Peggy Wilhite and husband, Carl of Crocket, Texas, his two brothers, John Robert O’Neal and wife, Jeanette of Rockwall, Texas, Michael O’Neal and wife, Janice of Edmond, Oklahoma along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Doug’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Dr. Joe Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
