Doris Jeanette Wagner

Doris “Jeanette” Cramer Wagner, 94, went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2023. She has been yearning for her heavenly home for years. A sweet saint has gone home, forever to be with her Lord. Jeanette was born on July 21, 1928 to John and Agnes Cramer in Coldspring, TX, and was the oldest of three daughters. She was raised in Port Arthur, TX and finished high school at Southwestern in Waxahachie, TX. Jeanette entered St Mary’s Hospital nursing school and became an RN in 1948. She worked in different areas and retired in 1993 from PAISD as a school nurse. She loved her home church, First Assembly of God in Port Arthur, and was the church pianist from the age of 12 to around 85. She made many life long friends that she treasured her entire life. Jeanette was introduced to a tall, handsome man from Louisiana and she and Claiborne were married in 1950. John, Vicki, and Susan, were added to their family in the next 10 years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56.5 years, her parents, John and Agnes Cramer, and her sister, Ann Ledbetter. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Jo Ellen (Joe) Nicholson; her children, John (Lesa) Wagner, Vicki (Art) Fisher, Susan (Ali) Yousefian; grandchildren Nathan (Allison)Wagner, Jeremy Wagner, Valerie (Brent) Coleman, Lindsay (Josh) Yawn, Alex (Mahnoush) Yousefian, Andrew Yousefian; great grandchildren Ava Wagner, Hudson Wagner, Beau Wagner, Cash Wagner, Carter Coleman, Crew Coleman, Landry Coleman, and Amelia Yawn (coming April 2023); Claiborne’s siblings, Lawrence, Vera, Jim, Annette, and Shirley, and many special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Nathan Wagner, Jeremy Wagner, Brent Coleman, Josh Yawn, Alex Yousefian, and Andrew Yousefian. Honorary pallbearers are Hudson Wagner, Beau Wagner, Cash Wagner, Carter Coleman, and Landry Coleman. Nathan Wagner, grandson and oldest grandchild of Mrs. Wagner, will officiate. Much appreciation to Marissa, Doris, and Peaches of Hospice Care Team; Blondie, Denzel, and Carlos of Bonne Vie Continuing Care; and Cindy of Holland Place Assisted Living. A gathering of Mrs. Wagner’s friends and family will begin at 10am, with her Celebration of Life at 11am, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 39th St, Groves, TX. Vicki- My mom(Jane) loved visiting with your mom at Bonne Vie. She was such a sweet lady. It makes me so happy that both our precious mothers are in Heaven with Jesus .

To the Wagner family, I am saddened to hear of your loss. What a precious, Godly lady your Mom was and she touched so many through the years. I have fond memories of our times of fellowship at First Assembly Church. Her dedication to her Lord and church left a legacy of faith for all who knew her. My prayers are with you all during this time. Much love, Cynthia Bell Fussell

I did not know Jeannette very well but she was so sweet to me when I brought Clayton and Lawrence and I did the driving to visit the Wagners’.  Clayton wanted one more trip and seems like we played cards that night at the hotel.  Such  a great family. She was loved and will certainly be missed.  Prayers for all.

Dear Johnny, Vicki and Susan, all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Our hearts are broken for you all for the loss of your sweet, wonderful mother, grandmother and our aunt. Growing up I have so many fond memories of Aunt Jeannette. We would drive from Cincinnati to Uncle Bobbie and Aunt Annette's house for a Wagner family reunion and you all would drive up from Port Arthur. Your momma would always take the time to ask us questions and really listened to what we had to say. As we grew older and wouldn't see each other for years, she always seemed truly be interested in our lives. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and had a warm giving heart for anyone she met! We will pray for peace and comfort in your hearts as you go through this hard difficult time. Love and hugs, Jon and Joy
