Obituary

Donald Glen Dale Sr. 79 of Port Arthur, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, March 20, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.

Donald was born on May 6, 1940 in Forest City, North Carolina to J. P. and Lola Dale.  He was a longtime resident of Port Arthur, Texas where he worked tirelessly at the Chevron chemical refinery for many years, retiring as a supervisor from the processing department. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church and an avid volunteer of the Pear Ridge Neighborhood Watch that he helped to establish and patrol for many years. He was an honored servant of our country and a proud Navy Veteran.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved son Darrell Gregory Dale, his loving parents J.P. and Lola Dale, as well as his brother Larry Dale and brother-in-law Tony Osteen.

Survivors include his son Donald Glen Dale Jr. of Groves, his daughter-in-law D’Anna Dale Seward and her husband Jason of Groves; five grandchildren, Cameron Dale, Austin Dale, Cace Dale, Baylie Dale and Caleb Dale; one great-grand daughter Danni Jade Dale and mother Kayla Dickens all of Groves, two sisters Darlene Osteen and Linda Thompson, two brothers Barry Dale and Roger Dale all of South Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews .

Donald was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, companion, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed. He was best known as Poppie to his family whom he was most committed to, definitely most proud of and loved wholeheartedly. We love you, Poppie! Rest in Peace!

He was wonderful friend and neighbor, He was always helping my mother and father out who stayed next door to him over 30 years. Me and my wife enjoying talking to him every day while we stayed next door at my mother's and father's house . You will be missed, our prayers goes out to your family.
