Obituary
Denise Guilbeau, 69, of Groves passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
She was born on June 25, 1954 in Port Arthur, Texas to Frances Ray Whitaker and Bill Whitaker. Denise was raised in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School in 1972. She retired from Port Neches-Groves Independent School District as a cafeteria worker at Taft Elementary School after 17 years. Denise was a longtime resident of Groves and a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Whitaker, Jr.
Denise is survived by her loving husband, Kurt Guilbeau of Groves; her two daughters, Michelle Williams and her husband Chris of Kingwood, Crystal Guilbeau of Groves; her three grandchildren, Preston Pearson, Drew Pearson and Chloe Orta. She is also survived by her five brothers, Claude Whitaker and wife Karry of Nederland, Perry Whitaker and wife Karen of Nederland, Randy Whitaker of Nederland, Darrell Whitaker and wife Liz of Nederland, David Whitaker and wife Renee of Nederland; her sister, Diane Hebert of Port Arthur as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Family and friends will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
