Deborah Saltzman

Deborah Jean LeCompte Saltzman, 71, of Groves passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at surrounded by her loving family.

Deborah was born on July 5, 1952 in Houma, Louisiana to her parents Betty Ann (Hebert) and Carl James LeCompte Sr. She had lived in the Groves area for 36 years; prior in Cameron, LA. She retired from nursing after 20 plus years; working a several doctor offices, her last was working at Dr. Randolph. She was of the catholic faith and was a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church. Deborah enjoyed going to play bingo, going to the casinos and she loved spending time with her family, who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Betty LeCompte Sr., her brother, Carl James LeCompte Jr. and her sister, Mary Jo LeCompte.

Deborah is survived by her love of her life and her husband for 47 years, Conrad Saltzman of Groves, her children, Carla Petry and her husband, Kenneth of Groves, Chris Saltzman of Groves, Cody Saltzman of Groves, her step daughter, Seanna Marie Lang of Michigan and her sister, Pamela LeCompte of Sulphur, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kiera, Kendi, Gabe, Logan, Lexan, Waverly, her great grandchild, Cedar and her godson, Shannon Saltzman and his wife, Kristin.

A Celebrating of Life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 with a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. The family is honoring Deborah’s wishes to be cremated after the services.
