Obituary

Deborah Juanita Achord, 64, of Groves passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence.

Debbie was born on April 7, 1954 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Corrine (Roberts) and Sam Desmond. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse after 35 years of employment. Debbie was a loving person who will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Deb is survived by her sons, Richard Preston Achord III of Port Neches, Robert Joseph Achord of Groves, brothers, Sam Desmond Sr. and wife, Sherry of Port Neches, Raymond Desmond and wife, Debbie of Nederland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Davon, Aspen, Aslynn, Marshell, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A 2:00 PM funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2019 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family from 12 noon until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
