Davis Carl Clark “Scooter”, 76, of Groves passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Magnolia Manor.

He was born on December 4, 1946 in Many, Louisiana to Davis Clark, Jr. and Annie Mae Norwood Clark. Scooter lived most of his life in the Port Arthur area. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Lover Romero whom he considered as his dad. He served in the U.S. Army.  Scooter worked as a dump truck driver for Romero and Clark Trucking and Barnette Construction.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and stepfather and his brothers, Mike Clark and Ted Clark.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Diane Romero-Gilmartin “Dee Dee” of Pinehurst, North Carolina; his nephews, Kurt Clark of Groves, Ryan Hearn of Groves, Patrick Gilmartin of Knoxville, Tennessee; one great niece, Preslee Clark; five great nephews, Michael Clark, Dylan Clark, Henry Gilmartin, Owen Gilmartin and Kolby Hearn.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Scooter’s life will be at 9:00 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Clayton Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Graveside rites will be at 10:30 AM Saturday in Bland Cemetery in Orange under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
