Obituary

Darlene Munkus Miller, 64, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Christus Southeast St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

She was born on April 1, 1958 in Birmingham, Alabama to Kenneth Munkus and Vila Mae Munkus. Darlene has been a resident of the area for over 20 years. She worked as a self employed caregiver through the years. Darlene was a member of Encounter Church.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Darlene is survived by her mother, Vila Mae Munkus of Alabama; her two daughters, Angelia Lemons and her husband, John of Brookeland, Texas, Crystal Colley and her boyfriend, Charlie Comeaux of Port Arthur; step-son, Lynn Miller and wife, Michelle of Vidor; grandson, Logan Morris. She is also survived by the father of her children, Larry Colley and wife, Janie DeVille of Vidor; her sisters, Theresa McKinna of Florida, Sheila Eaves of Alabama; her brothers, Victor Munkus and Stanley Munkus both of Alabama along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Memorial Service to honor Darlene’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.
