Obituary

Darien Casper Adaway

Darien Casper Adaway, age 22, departed this life on November 2, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on March 17, 2003, in Port Arthur, Texas, he was a beloved son, brother, father and friend who brightened the lives of those around him.

Darien was affectionately known as “Casper” to his friends and family. Throughout his young life, Casper dedicated himself to both his education and work. He graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 2021 and pursued further studies in carpentry at ABC Trade School in Nederland, where he was only one semester away from completing his training. His career began in the bakery department at the mid county HEB, followed by a position at the Nederland Market Basket Bakery. Additionally, he served as a salesclerk at Taco Bell, embodying the spirit of hard work and dedication. His interests widely ranged, encompassing a love for music and an affinity for playing video games, all while cherishing treasured memories spent at Disney World and Universal.

He was surrounded by a loving family, including his father, Michael Adaway, and his spouse, Anastasia Cotton, along with his mother, Claire DeLeon, and her spouse, Arthur Smith. Darien was particularly proud of his role as a father to his daughter, Autumn McDaniel. He was also the cherished brother of Layne Tucker, Remy Alicea, Music Howard, Alice DeLeon, Theodore Blakeman, and Gemma Adaway. The nurturing presence of his grandparents, Rita Adaway, Donald Burns, Kim Chiasson, and Jimmy DeLeon, further enriched his life.

Darien held a special place in his heart for his cousins and siblings, with whom he enjoyed countless gatherings and celebrations. The warmth of his family was especially felt during the joyous Christmas gatherings with his mother's family, where laughter and love filled the air.

In honoring his memory, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Saturday, November 15, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM, all taking place at Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors, located at 5200 W.
