Cynthia Chesson

1952 ∼ 2026

Cynthia Chesson

Cynthia Chesson, a woman of remarkable warmth and spirit, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. Born on May 2, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas, Cynthia was known for her giving, kind, sweet, and often hilarious nature, with a feisty spark that endeared her to all who knew her. Her presence brought joy and laughter, and she will be deeply missed.

Cynthia’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, and family, for whom she held an immeasurable affection. She also possessed a special place in her heart for animals, a passion she actively demonstrated through her generous donations to various charities, particularly dog shelters. Her compassion and dedication to helping others, both human and animal, left a lasting impact.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Chris Chesson, and his wife, Karen; her daughter, Kari Denise Valdes, and her husband, Danny; and her cherished grandchildren, Cynthia Grace Valdes, Garrett and Erika Valdes, Mason Valdes, and Dominic Valdes. Cynthia is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Boudreaux, and her husband, Harry; sisters-in-law, Leslie Johnson, Darla Chesson, Paula Kanesaw, and Sherri Burton. She loved all of her nieces and nephews but a special thank you goes out to her niece, Dana Archibald. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Martha Jordan, and her devoted husband, Jimmy Chesson.

A graveside service to honor Cynthia’s life will be held on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas. Also a thank you to the pallbearers Chris, Danny, Greg, John, Tony, and Byron.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to A Dogs New Life at adnlalliance.org, continuing Cynthia's legacy of caring for animals.

My SIL has taught me much about life! She has loved me since I can’t even remember, my Barbie and Ken were named Jimmy and Cindy, I have vivid memories of her singing Mr. Big Stuff🎶 and when my life hit a brick wall she lovingly helped me navigate the most difficult time I have ever walked through. It has been a great honor to have been a support for her these last few years during her journey! I know she is dancing in heaven with no pain, joyfully awaiting my arrival! Praise His Holy Name!!!
