Christy Lynn Sherrer Meyer, 70, of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at her residence.

Christy was born on March 18, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Dorothy Holmes Sherrer and Aubrey Ray Sherrer. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. She received a Associate Degree in nursing from Port Arthur College and she worked many years in sales with Jim Walton Buick and later with the Port Arthur News. Christy enjoyed going fishing and catching, going camping, and she loved going to the beach. Christy was a loving person who will be missed dearly by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Dorothy Sherrer, and her sister, Connie Rae Sandifer.

Christy is survived by her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Meyer of Port Arthur, her stepdaughter, Casey L. Carrington and husband, Tim of Overland, KS and their children, Katelyn and Vivian, her brother in law, Bill Sandifer of Groves. She is also survived by her aunt, Georgia R. Sandoval of Port Arthur, her nephew, Brian Sandifer and his wife, Julie, of Groves, niece, Lori Edmond and her husband, Matt of Kirbyville, and her cousin, Susie Sherrer of Austin.

A 2:00 PM funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 12:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
