Charlene Marie Mendoza, 82, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

She was born on January 12, 1942 in Leesville, Louisiana to Thelma Coburn Trotti and Ila Vernon Trotti. Charlene lived most of her life in the area. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her three sons along with her husband, Herman. Charlene was a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donnie Trotti, her husband Herman Hays Mendoza, Sr., her son Johnny Mendoza.

Charlene is survived by her sons, Jay Mendoza and wife Kaye of Port Arthur, Gary Mendoza and wife Darla of Montgomery; her grandchildren, Jayna (Michael) Mobley, Jimmy (Jamie) Mendoza, Lyndsi (Josh) Fountain, Garrett Mendoza, Waysie (Shannon) Jensen along with 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Yvonne Riggs of Bedford, Texas and Lorraine Daily of Columbus, Texas; her brother, Carl Trotti of Belton, Texas; her sister-in-law, Reba Trotti of Hockley, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to celebrate Charlene’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
