Obituary

Carole Elaine Sartin Deslatte, 81, of Port Arthur passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

She was born on April 26, 1942 in Leesville, Louisiana to Mildred Hall Sartin and Charlie Sartin. Carole was a longtime resident of the Sabine Pass/Port Arthur area. She owned and operated Deslatte’s Seafood Restaurant in Sabine Pass for many years and later worked and retired from Dillard’s as a sales associate. Carole was a longtime active member of United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City, TX, where she was involved with Choir, various fund-raising events and women’s group projects within the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, JoAnn Taylor; her brother, Charles Sartin, Sr. and her husband, Dalton W. Deslatte.

Carole is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Deslatte and her husband Ty Chumley of Nederland, Charlene Deslatte and her husband Gary McAbee of Sabine Pass; her son, Michael Deslatte and his wife Brenda Kimmons of Sabine Pass; her four grandchildren, Christopher Deslatte (Ashleigh), Devin Deslatte, Lakin Schneider (Sarah) and Brittany Pippin (Brent); her great grandchildren, Maci Deslatte, Jake Deslatte, Jax Deslatte, Bradley Clough and Brecken Clough. She is also Survived by her brother, Jack Sartin and his wife Rose of Starks, Louisiana along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City, TX (2056 W Round Bunch Rd, Orange, TX 77630). Service to honor Carole’s life will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
