Brenda Renee Pratt, 56, of Groves passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at her home.
Brenda was born on January 14, 1967 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Monroe Pratt Sr. and Georgie Renee (Fisher) Pratt. She started her life in Port Arthur and moved to Groves with her family in 2002. Her and Art even opened their home to her mom, Renee, so that they were able to have a multi generational home. They were the epitome of a tight knit family.
She worked at Asset Living Property Management in the office for 12 plus years. She was a very respected in the property management community. When she was working on the properties she managed, she cared for her residents and didn’t put up with any “shenanigans”.
Brenda would give the shirt off her back and open her home to those in need. She loved to have holidays at her home with family, friends and the Gypsy MC’s, as they made her an honorary Gypsy. Her favorite was Christmas, as she would transform their home into a “wonderland” for all the little ones in their life. Brenda was a loving, caring and giving person who will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Renee Carter, her stepfather, Charles Carter Sr. and her brother, Scott Bergeron.
Brenda is survived by her life partner of 31 years, Art Darbone of Groves, her father, Monroe Pratt Sr. and his wife, Jeri, of Groves, her sons, Vance Bradley Darbone and his wife, Mallory, of Port Acres, Ethan Darbone and his wife Allyce, of Nederland, Dexter Darbone of Beaumont, her brothers, Mark Pratt, Monroe Pratt Jr. and his wife, Annie and Brian Pratt.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Violet Darbone, Sterling Darbone, Zoey Guerrero, Vivian Lara, Dean Darbone, her nieces, Abigail Pratt, Anna Pratt, Macie Jackson, her nephews, Austin Bergeron, Cade Pratt and Corban Pratt.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Christian Burial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
