I am literally in shock and so heartbroken of this news!! I was so thankful of the recommendation of her by someone for a seamstress. She’s done many things recently for us, both my sons patches for baseball, my parents clothes and clothes for my daughter. We were there a few weeks ago and she hadn’t been feeling well and I was worried about her, it was not like her to be under the weather. I enjoyed talking with her when pickin up my clothes she had sewn and seeing her little precious chihuahua that would chase me to the door when leaving. We shared our love for chihuahuas as i had three myself. She was so friendly and I was soo happy I had found someone so amazing like her. I just can’t get over this. This is so unbelievably sad. I am praying so hard for her husband and family. Such a nice family.

I first met Betty when we attended and graduated from PNG High School. She and Sam were together then, and she was always in love; that love lasting these past 53 years. Not only were they my high school mates; as fate would have it, they were Tom and my neighbors for over 20 years. They were the best ‘over the back fence’ neighbors we could have ever hoped for as we both raised our children. Betty loved her family! She was so devoted to Sam and loved Stevie and Mike beyond measure. What fond memories you guys must have! I pray those memories will help sustain you throughout your life. Betty was the best seamstress I know. She made Tracy and Angie’s wedding dresses; and, also when Angie was a cheerleader in middle school, Betty made each of the girls’ uniforms, not just one, but 5 each. Betty loved her friends too! The bible says “A friend loves at all times”. Proverbs 17:17. Betty was that kind of friend to me. After we moved, I missed those sharing times, those times she cared for me after surgery, and going to the doctor with me and especially the talks. The LORD has provided healing for her, not in the way we had hoped, but in a way that she is with her Creator, healed and abundantly loved. I love you, Betty! I’m so thankful that I have the Hope of seeing you again one day.

We were neighbors of Betty and Sam for many years in Port Neches. They were the best friends and neighbors anyone could have ever hoped for. Betty would often cook lunch for you Sam and I would get invited to eat delicious squirrel gumbo. She was a gracious host and always great to be around. Sam, you were the best when helping me out with mechanical projects and the most feared squirrel hunter I've ever known. When our family moved to Baton Rouge, we wished that we could have taken both of you with us. Although we were far apart, the memories of us loading up in your pickup truck and going swimming in a nearby pond are fond ones. Betty loved her family and friends and would always be there to help. She was a very kind lady and devoted wife to you Sam. While she is gone to a better place, I know all of you will miss her terribly. She always talked about the grand kids and yes, Stevie and Michael too. I hope you will always remember to good times with her and know that she did make a difference in everyone's life. May she rest in peace and may God comfort each of you during this difficult time. Larry and Ilene.

Mrs. Palermo will be so missed!!! We came to know her when my daughters needed alterations for dance costumes many years ago. She was like part of the family, and a part of a lot of my girls milestones, from dance costumes and pageant and prom dresses all the way to their wedding gowns. The last being my youngest about a month and a half ago. She was always so gracious and was the best seamstress I have ever known but more than that we considered her a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to her husband and sons and their families during this time. I am so sorry for your loss and also feel very blessed to have known her.
