Our Loving Mother, Audrey Carlsen got her wings on October 26, 2019 at the age of 92.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kay Chapman of Leander, Texas, her two sons, David Carlsen of Groves, Mark Charles Carlsen of Seabrook, Texas, her granddaughter, Melissa Thompson Wilson, her six great grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Blake Wilson, Joshua Gillett, Isabelle Gillett, Ashlynn Fontenot and Brelynn Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles E. Carlsen, her two granddaughters, Michelle Fontenot and Chrissie Carlsen Gillett.

She was a native of Port Arthur. She attended Bishop Byrne and went on to Port Arthur College. Her first job was at Gulf Marine Department. She married Charles E. Carlsen on April 23, 1949. They had three children, Linda, David and Mark. She was a member of many clubs including Womens Propeller Club. She enjoyed modeling clothes and always found a love for line dancing. She will be truly missed by her friends and family.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Audrey’s life will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2019 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Audrey was a long time friend of my momma. My mom, Faye, loved her and they enjoyed sharing many January birthdays together. My dad and her husband, Charles, were friends from way back. My condolences to the family. You will miss her I know, but sweet memories will always be in your heart.
