Obituary

Arthurine Gentile Bourque

Arthurine Gentile Bourque, born on September 24, 1928, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in her beloved hometown. A cherished member of her family and community, Arthurine was well-known for her warmth, her laughter, and the delicious homemade spaghetti that brought everyone together around the dinner table.

Arthurine graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1947, marking the beginning of a life filled with love, dedication, and service. A devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, she actively participated in the Alter Society and the Senior Club, spreading joy through her unwavering faith.

She lived a life enriched by her interests and passions. Arthurine enjoyed shopping and embraced the thrill of casino trips. Yet, nothing made her smile quite like attending her grandchildren's sports activities. She loved listening to the games, cheering them on, and reveling in their successes, embodying the spirit of pride and support that only a loving grandmother can give.

Arthurine leaves behind her loving son, Roger Bourque, and his wife, Bobby. She was the proud grandmother of Kris Bourque and his wife, April, as well as a great-grandmother to Kaynon Bourque, Faith Williams and her husband, Josiah, Blaine Bourque with his fiancé, Makayla, and Peyton Bourque. The joy she found in life continues with her great-great-granddaughters, Josie and Charlie Williams, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her bond with her brother, Jimmie Gentile, and his wife, Claudia, along with multiple nieces and nephews, also brought her immense happiness throughout her years.

Arthurine was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Orance Gentile, and her adoring husband of 60 years, Russell Bourque whom she married on June 7,1947. Their memories remain etched in the hearts of those who knew her, a testament to the deep connections she forged throughout her life.

She became my adopted Mother after my Mom's passing. She was a very sweet and gentle lady and I would do anything for her even helping her with her spaghetti sauce. She will be dearly missed by all her friends and especially Senior Club of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Club. Rest in peace my friend.
