Obituary

Ameda Kile, 93, of Sabine Pass passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Ameda was born on August 15, 1926 in Harmon, Louisiana to parents Gertrude Nora Gore Brown and Garrett Isaac Brown. She had lived 75 plus years in Sabine Pass and was an active member of Sabine Pass United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for 70 years. She was also active in her community, a member of Dick Dowling Lions Club of Sabine Pass. She enjoyed cross stitching and working word puzzles. Ameda was a loving person who will be dearly missed.

Ameda was preceded in death by her parents, Garrett and Gertrude Brown and her sister, Jo Ann Hanson.

Ameda is survived by her husband of 71 years, Earl Martin Kile Jr. of Sabine Pass, her sons, Darrel Lynn Kile and wife, Mary of Sabine Pass, Earl Kile III of Houston, James Wesley Kile of Sabine Pass, her sister, Doris Eldridge and husband, Jennings of Sabine Pass. She is also survived by her grandsons, Chris Kile and wife, Christy, Eric Kile and wife, Shawna, her great grandchildren, Nori, Jasper, Owen, Grayson.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A 10:00 AM funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the funeral home, officiating will be Rev. Kitty Key and Rev. Nicole Boddie. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
