Obituary

Thomas Lynn Nolan September 29, 1940 - February 25, 2009

Thomas Lynn Nolan slipped suddenly into eternity on February 25, 2009. He was born September 29, 1940, the son of Eurell and Willa Nolan. He was a 1959 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High and a three year Chemical Engineering major at Lamar Tech. He enlisted in the Army following graduation and served his country in Texas, Maryland , and Verdun, France and was discharged with honors as a Specialist 5. He met his wife of almost 49 years in Junior High and they married April 30, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and her husband Don and Jean Ann Bullion. He is survived by his wife Faye Wolf Nolan, much loved children daughter Karen Faye Powell and husband Patrick , son Thomas Lynn Nolan II and wife Marla Haltom Nolan, and his adored grandchildren Connor Patrick Powell, Alaina Caroline Powell , Sara Elizabeth Nolan and Thomas Ryan Nolan , special friend and brother-in-law George M. Wolf , Uncle Richard and Aunt Betty Nolan and his five nieces Kim Surette, Debbie Gascoyne , Susan Mercer, Peggy Johnson, and Kristina Berg. He will be greatly missed by his dogs, cats, and parrot. Tommy wasn't a joiner - he was a doer. He spent many weekends at Camp Waluta Camp Fire Camp roofing and repairing cabins. He loved helping neighbors and kids by sponsoring teams, buying equipment, building school and Scout projects and teaching kids to fish. He was always an easy touch for "ice cream money" Our sincere thanks to all the emergency personnel from Orange County who worked so hard to save Tommy's life. Know that it was always in God's hands.

Dera Faye Ester I just learned of Tommy's death yesterday. If I had known in time, I would have been at the funeral. Your family has always been special to me. I pray that God will comfort you at this time.
