Carol "Grandmaw" Rider , 68, of Groves, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 16, 1940 to Mary Inez Rutledge Sandifer and Harry Sandifer Sr. in Glynn, Texas. Carol retired from Fina as an operator after many years of service. She was a longtime resident of the Groves area. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley "Sister" King and her brotherTommy Sandifer. She is survived by her daughters Donna Kay Cannon of Shelbyville, Texas, Connie Dianne Laverne and Patricia Rider Doucet both of Groves, Texas, her son Michael "Precious" Boudreaux of Groves, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren Along with her brothers Marvin Harry Sandifer, Jr. of Sontag, Mississippi and Richard Neil Sandifer of Spring, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carol was a sweet, gentle lady, who loved all her children dearly. I know they will miss her deeply and for that I am very sorry at this time for their sorrow. She was always very kind to me , so sad that I will not be able to be there.
