Evelyn Joyce Hebert August 23, 1930 - March 30, 2009

Evelyn Joyce Rucker Hebert died on March 30, 2009 at the Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur, Texas. Evelyn was born in Port Arthur on August 23, 1930. She and her husband resided for 30 years in the Groves before retiring to Gilchrist, Texas for 26 years. Evelyn loved flounder fishing at the cut, playing bingo and slots, and her Friday all day poker game with the girls. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Port Arthur and Crystal Beach, Texas. She was known for her delicious cajun dishes and pork roast spread with the trimmings. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Bobby)Hebert of 46 years and her youngest son, Brian David Hebert.Also preceding in death, her brother Ralph Rucker of Bridge City,Tx, Surviving her are her children and spouses, Merle Hebert Blankenship and husband Harvey of Beaumont,Ellen Richard of Beaumont, and Donald L. Hebert and wife Molly of Buda, Texas. And last but not least, her chihuahua Lil' Girl. Surviving siblings are her sister Muriel Havens of Port Arthur, and Charlie Rucker of Groves, TX, along with many nieces and nephews.
