James William Dattalo November 29, 1942 - October 7, 2009

James "Jim" W. Dattalo, 66, of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 29, 1942 in Beaumont Texas and was raised by his loving parents Laura Bonin Dattalo and Venson Charles Dattalo. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. After graduating from High School he enlisted in the United States Navy for 8 years. Jim returned to Port Arthur to enroll in Lamar University and graduated with an Associates Degree in Electronics in 1970. He continued his naval career with the Reserves and retired from the Navy after 23 years of service. He retired from Louisiana Pigment after 10 years of service and Unocal after 10 years of service. He moved to Lumberton four years ago, but lived in the Port Arthur area for most of his life. He was an avid golfer, proud of his service to his country and a very devout christian. He was preceded in death by his parents Laura and Venson Dattalo, his brothers Frank Dattalo and Richard "Ricky" Dattalo. Jim is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Ayala Dattalo of Lumberton, daughters Dana Dattalo of Beaumont, Jennifer Lopez and husband Ted of Nipomo, CA., sons Scott Dattalo and wife Lidia of Santa Clara, CA., John Myers III and wife Kim of Lumberton along with six grandchildren Ashley, Amanda and Shawn Dattalo, Peyton and Mason Myers, Sian Lopez. He is also survived by his brother Charles E. Dattalo and wife Marie of Lumberton, Step-sister Carolyn Foster of Spring, Texas and special family member Pam Sasser of Lumberton as well as several nieces and nephews.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Unocal and Louisiana Pigment. He was as sharp as they came and was always a friend willing to you out anytime, at home or at work. He will be missed.
