James W. Carlin, Jr. November 4, 1915 - November 24, 2009

James W. Carlin, Jr., 94, of Groves, Texas went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur. He was born November 4, 1915 to Mary LeLeux Carlin and James W. Carlin in Orange, Texas. He moved with his family to Port Arthur at the age of 3. He has been a resident of the Port Arthur/Groves area for over 85 years. J. W. served in the U. S. Army Air Corp and then was drafted into the Marine Corp. He retired from Gulf Oil as an Operator. J. W. was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4820 in Port Neches. He loved to play golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pearline Carlin and his son Philip Michael Carlin. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Carlin of Groves, his sons James Patrick Carlin and wife Carolyn of Jasper, Wayne Wilfred Carlin and wife Sandra of Hemphill,Ronald M. Carlin and wife Donna of Groves, David Alan Carlin and wife Belinda of Corpus Christi, step-daughter Kathy Green and husband Brad of Nederland, step-sons Norman Reynolds and wife Gwen of Lumberton, Gary Reynolds and wife Pat of Groves, 8 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Aunt Kathryn, we are sorry for your loss. J. W. was a hoot, a special character that made our family times unique, to say the least. I know that he is no longer suffering, but that doesn't mean you don't miss him. We love you and will see you tomorrow.
