Ruth Hazel Simon May 15, 1931 - November 30, 2009

Ruth Hazel Booker Simon, 78, of Port Arthur passed away on November 30, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Port Arthur. Ruth graduated from the St. Mary School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. For the next 40 years she worked as a nurse at local hospitals and at Dowling and Pease Elementary schools. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Leila Mae Davis Booker, brother Edward Booker, sisters Kathleen Schnelzer and Thelma Morgan . She is survived by her husband John "Pop" Simon of Port Arthur, daughters, Ruth Ann and husband Nicky Romero of Port Neches, Linda Simon of Houston and Connie Simon and Gnossos Hebert of Austin, sister Dorothy and husband George Tuttle of Port Arthur and grandchildren Mallori and Mason Romero and Mia Hebert.
