Rita G. Gaspard June 27, 1926 - November 29, 2009

Rita Guidry Gaspard, 83, of Groves passed away on Sunday November 29, 2009 at the Family Care Assisted Living Center in Orange, Texas. She was born June 27, 1926 to Edna Borel Guidry and Amede Guidry in Port Arthur, Texas. Rita was a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur area, where she graduated from St. James High School and St. Mary School of Nursing. She retired as a registered nurse with Christus St. Mary Hospital after 27 years of service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Rita was an avid gardener and loved tending to her yard and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ivy Gaspard, Jr. Rita is survived by her daughters Sharon Niel and husband Gary of Beauxart Gardens, Janis Bourque of Nederland, Laurie Gaspard of Groves, her son Kenney Gaspard of Groves, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters Mary Ann LaCroix of Groves and Cora Mae Noack of Groves along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
