Robert Menchaca, 89, of Nederland passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2010. He was born August 17, 1920 to Luz Monriquez Menchaca and Paul Menchaca in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Robert was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1941. He served in the U. S. Army with 101st Airborne Division in WWII. He retired from Texaco Inc. as an electrician after 35 years of service. Robert was affiliated with I. B. E. W. Local #479, the Knights of Columbus Nederland Council and St. Charles Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard and Rufus. He is survived by his loving wife Oralia Menchaca of Nederland, his daughters Norma "Millie" Menchaca of Beaumont, Melissa Miller and husband Mike of Nederland, his sons, Robert Menchaca, Jr. and wife Janet of Orange, Lionel Menchaca and wife Eileen of Georgetown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wendy, Cindi, Jimmy John, Lionel Jr., Rachel and Drew as well as his great grandchildren Camille, Louis and Mia along with several nieces and nephews. In Lieu of Flowers, family request donations to be made to Knights Of Columbus Council, 315 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.

Sorry for your loss i know its hard these moments. May God bless you and your family I don't know if we are relative but my grandfather is Jose Menchca and my Grandmother is Josefa R Menchaca from Predias Negras Mex. We never knew my grandfather side of the family so i hope we are related because i remember my father said there is small around somewhere in Predias Negras. We are trying to find my grandfather family. My grand lived in Texas. please respond at my email
