Vivian Jewel East August 19, 1914 - March 23, 2010

Vivian Jewel Standley East, 95, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully at her son's home in Nederland. She was born August 19, 1914 to Dessie Gladys Camper Standley and W. F. Standley in Deweyville, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Groves. Vivian retired as the owner and operator of Vivian East Realtor after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. East, Jr., her brothers, Howard, John, Paul and Lloyd Standley. She is survived by her son, David M. East and wife Jan of Nederland, Texas, her five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren along with two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gertie Mae Reed of Chandler, Arizona, her brothers, Rev. Bill Standley of Trinity, Texas and Donald Standley of Brownwood, Texas along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
