Ernestine Brooks Perdue April 8, 1917 - July 21, 2010

Ernestine Perdue, age 93 of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Dubius Hospital of Port Arthur with her husband by her side. She was born on April 8, 1917 in Farmerville, Louisiana to her parents Clarence and Viola Cole Brooks. She was a resident of Port Arthur for the past 47 years and had been employed at J.C. Penny for 17 years as a sales clerk. Ernestine was married to her husband Ernest for 59 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ernest A. Perdue, Sr. of Port Arthur, sons, Ernie and his wife Terry Perdue, Jr. of Port Arthur, Donald and his wife Carol Griffith of Sterlington, La., daughters, Joyce and her husband John Payne of Greenville, South Carolina and Virginia and her husband Travis Talley of Bastrop, Louisiana, sister Rita Nolan of Farmerville, Louisiana, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
