Arthur was actively involved in his children's lives. He was a member of the Port Neches-Groves Band Action Committee for many years. His love was building headdresses and selling them for the band and PTA and attending Friday night football games. Even after his daughters graduated high school, he still continued to to be actively involved in the high school band, PTA, and Friday night football games, as well as his daughters' college and professional careers. He never met a stranger, and his charismatic personality will be missed. He worked diligently for the Kansas City Southern Railroad for 42 years, where he was only a mere five weeks from retiring. In his time at the Kansas City Southern Railroad, he was commended for his safety through many awards. Vicky, Alicia, and Dana ... Know that we love you and share in your grief. Remind yourself each day that Arthur is happy and healthy and that he wants you all to go on with your lives and do the things you all enjoyed together. That's what Gina told her kids when Bart passed away......"We will continue on with our lives and do things as we always have - we are still a family." Arthur was also a well loved guy and take great joy in the fact that he touched so many! I couldn't have ask for a nicer guy to pick on me! Love you all

We are all truly heartbroken. May you know that God is carrying each of you, Vicky, Alicia, and Dana, as you make this tragic journey. "Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost one pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." We loved Arthur (and venture to say EVERYONE did) -- and we love each of you!

I will miss our conversations about Nederland vs. Port Neches. I still have the beaded headdress he made me - out of black and gold beads. He's a very fun person, and even though I saw him mainly at Trey's Birthday parties, Arthur will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Sharon Streetman

Arthur was a kind soul. Known at work for his "matter of fact" attitude. His smile always let you know that at the end of the day, he was just doing his job and doing it the best way he knew how. Respectfully, Denise Lewis

Words cannot express my sadness. From my girls' $2 bills collection, headdresses, our gift exchange of Italian sausage, sharing times of great joy and support in times of lossArthur was so good. His laughter was contagious and he was always generous of his time, talents, and friendship. I can only take comfort in the fact that he was greeted at the Heavenly gates by some of his dear friends. Vicky, Alicia, and Dana my heart is aching for you. You continue to be in my family's thoughts and prayers.
