Gerald Wayne Lavergne, Sr., 50, of Port Arthur passed way on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home. He was born January 9, 1960 to Annabel and Overton Lavergne in Port Arthur, Texas. He has been a resident of Port Arthur for most of his life. Gerald retired from a local chemical plant as an operator after 20 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #1368 A. F. & A. M. in Nederland. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. His family is honoring his wishes to be cremated with no services. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ousley Lavergne of Port Arthur, his son, Gerald Wayne Lavergne, Jr. and wife Kourtney of Port Arthur, his parents, Annabel and Overton Lavergne of Port Arthur, his sisters, Sheila DeJohn and Patricia Lavergne both of Port Arthur along with grandchildren, Jada, Joshua, Valon and Jayden as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends that will miss him.
