Mildred Jordan Schmidt June 19, 1929 - October 18, 2010

Mildred Ann Abadie Jordan Schmidt of Mauriceville, Texas and formerly of Port Arthur passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Mildred was born on June 19, 1929 to Harry Andrew and Isabelle Thomas Abadie in Port Arthur, Texas. Her parents moved to New Orleans at the beginning of WWII, and Mildred grew up in New Orleans, graduating from Redemptorist All Girls High School in 1946. She met the love of her life, Joseph C. Schmidt in New Orleans, and they were married on June 28, 1947. They moved to Port Arthur, Texas., where she and J.C. raised their five children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and loved to make people laugh. She was a great cook, and could always be counted on for advice when grandkids were sick or a recipe wouldn't turn out right. She and J.C. loved to travel and had many adventures, from California to New York all the way to the Blue Grotto in Capri, Italy. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Isabelle, her sister, Lila Abadie King and her great grandson, James Conor Williams. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph C. Schmidt of Mauriceville, daughters, Stacie Williams and husband Brad of Port Neches, Millie Jean Pritchard of Nederland, Sons, Dennis Schmidt of Mauriceville, Dr. John A. Schmidt and wife Bettye of Nederland, Joey Schmidt of McKinney, sisters Philomene Cassino and husband Jim of Militon, New Jersey, Roberta Dufour and husband Buddy of Fannett, brother Kenneth Abadie of Groves, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
