William "Dub" Hayes, age 87 of Port Arthur, TX. passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital. He was born on October 14, 1923 in Excel, AL. to Eugene and Martha Asberry Hayes. "Dub" was a resident of Port Arthur for the past 57 years. He was a Master Mechanic with over 50 years of service. "Dub" served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Moale as a gunner. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid fisherman. Visitation will be at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with Funeral Services to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Clayton Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson. Burial will be Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Baptist Church Cemetery in Huxford, AL. "Dub" was preceded in death by his parents and son, W. Phillip Hayes. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hayes of Port Arthur, daughters, Linda Rogas of Mauriceville, Deborah and husband Buddy Miller of Fort White, FL., son, Michael and wife, Natalie Hayes of Westlake, LA., daughters, Sharon Hayes of Alachua, FL., Janet and husband Perry Wallace of Nederland, TX., Nancy and husband Dennis Lively of Orange, TX. and Lori Gallier of Hamshire, TX. sisters, Carrie Jay and Annie Jean Davis both of Uriah, AL., sister-in-law Hazel and husband Glen Morgan of Brandon, MS., 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
