Mary Agnes Nelson, 74, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Gulf Healthcare Center in Port Arthur. She was born May 21, 1936 to Evelyn Flake Hasselmier and Nolan Hasselmier in Galveston, Texas. She has been a resident of the area since 1963. Mary was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 35 years and retired from Mid-Jefferson Hospital ICU after 29 years of service. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert Pelloat. She is survived by her husband, Elmore D. Nelson of Port Arthur, Texas, her daughters, Nisbeth Dubose and husband Rodney of Palestine, Texas, Tammy Robicheaux and husband Billy of Orange, Texas, her son, Frank Bailey of Palestine, Texas, her step-daughter, Shirley Brew and husband Mike of Nederland, Texas, two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Brew along with her brother, Frank Hasselmier of Cushing, Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews.
