Gerda Christine Suggs, 84, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur. She was born August 9, 1925 to Clara Karlson Bergeson and Leif Bergeson in Eltonville, New York. Christine was a resident of Port Arthur for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and a former member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lillian Buchanan, her two sons, Kenneth Wayne Suggs and Steven Edward Suggs and her husband, Marvin H. Suggs, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Palermo and husband Eddie of Orange, Texas, her sons, Joe Marvin Suggs of Bismark, Arkansas, Marvin H. Suggs, Jr. and wife Michelle Gutierrez of Richmond, Texas, three grandchildren, Brenda Withers, Joy Palermo and Johnny Palermo along with six great grandchildren.
