John D. Rushing December 14, 1928 - May 8, 2011

John D. Rushing, 82, of Groves, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. He was born December 14, 1928 to Norma Austin Rushing and Oscar Rushing. He has been a resident of the area since he was 18 years old. John retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was the former co-owner and developer of Oak Grove Nursing Home, former owner and developer of Jonothon's Inn and Motel on Gulfway Drive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Deanna Norris and husband Rickie of Port Arthur, Texas, Karen Rushing Usey and husband Billy of Groves, Texas, four grandchildren, Erica Bullock and husband Duane, Tracie Bullock and husband Mark, Ryan Bertrand, Justin Bertrand and wife Katie, great grandchildren, Alexandra, Claudia, Dustin, Trace, Kyler, Harlie, Jace, Madison, Mitchell and Marcee. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Odyssey Hospice or to the charity of your choice in memory of John.
