Everett L. McDonald, 88, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. He was born September 12, 1922 to Ella Mae Dorman McDonald and Milton A. McDonald in Hainesville, Louisiana. He has been a resident of the area for over 75 years. Everett received a degree in instrumentation and retired from Texaco as an instrument supervisor after 41 years. He was also a Farmers Insurance Agent for 30 years. He served in the Army Air Force as a nose gunner during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Everett was a member of Bethel Temple (The Sanctuary). He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Flora Mae McDonald. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Dugas and husband Darrell of Port Neches, Texas, Connie Hanley and husband Wayde of Port Arthur, Texas, his son, Dwight McDonald and wife Brenda of Groves, Texas, five grandchildren, Jennifer McDonald, Mark McDonald, Sunni Dugas Carter and husband Kaleb, Phoebe Hanley and Taylor Hanley, nephews, Danny Beckcom, Kent Beckcom and Gary McDonald, cousin Carl Dorman along other friends and relatives.
