Concepcion Colunga September 22, 1918 - July 2, 2011

Concepcion "Connie" Colunga, 93, of Groves passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves. She was born September 22, 1918 to Elvira Gomez Colunga and Desiderio Colunga in San Antonio, Texas. She lived most of her life in the Port Arthur/Groves area. Connie worked at the refinery during WWII, but spent most of her time taking care of her parents and siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sally Gonzales, her brothers, Darrell Colunga, Ezikiel Colunga and Johnny Colunga, Sr. She is survived by her sister, Toni Martinez of Groves, Texas, her half-brothers, Pete Aceves of Alaska and Carlos Aceves, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews including her nephew, Johnny Colunga, Jr. of Port Arthur and her great niece/caregiver, Marquette Colunga of Port Arthur as well as several other great nieces and nephews.
