Ira Frank Jones, 80, of Groves, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born January 21, 1931 to Christine Garcia Jones and H. F. Jones in New Waverly, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during the Korean Conflict. Ira retired from Ameripol Synpol after 26 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Cora Erdman of Port Arthur, Texas, June Elizabeth Sorrentino of Riverside, New Jersey, Phyllis Rene Jones of Groves, Texas, his sons, Ira Frank Jones, Jr. of Groves, Texas, Oscar Lee Jones of Groves, Robert Louis Jones of Pennsylvania and Brian Keith Jones of Groves, Texas along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
