My sympathy is extended to the family in your loss. I taught in the room Jo Pruitt taught in at Taft Elementary and could tell how much she loved imparting knowledge to her students. She had so many different things to help in all the subjects she taught for those many years and even though I didn't work with her I know she had a big heart and made a difference in the lives of those she taught.

Heartfelt condolences from me and Joe Ann Flowers(deceased) my wife, who taught school with Betty Jo for many years, and who loved her dearly. God has received her! With love to all, Elmer

My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Pruitt's family. She was my 1st grade teacher (fall 1964/spring 1965) at Groves Elementary School on Cleveland in Groves, Texas. I was so lucky she was my first teacher--she taught me to read, was a great teacher, and I'll never forget her. Thank you, Mrs. Pruitt
