Betty Derese September 13, 1927 - December 4, 2011

Betty Derese, 84 of Nederland, TX passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Port Arthur, on September 13, 1927 to Jack and Lydia "Daily" Derese. Betty graduated Thomas Jefferson in 1946 and then attended the University of Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Business Degree. Betty went to Washington DC and worked for Lyndon Johnson and also worked in New York for Gen McArthur. She later returned to Texas and worked for the Juliet Gibson School of Modeling in Houston. Betty came back to Port Arthur and opened Mr. T Health Store on Gulfway Drive and in 2002 she moved the store to Nederland, TX. Betty is preceded in death by parents. She is survived by her sisters, Joy Derese Dyer of Nederland, TX and Rebecca Derese Wikoff of Kerrville, TX, brother, Billy M Derese of Nederland, TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

I didn't know Betty personally, but my boss Olin Clotiaux spoke very highly of her. I'm sure she has helped me a time or two when I have been in the store. Everyone there is so nice. I know she will be missed dearly.
