Melinda Hebert
January 8, 1959 - December 6, 2011
Melinda Watts Hebert, 52, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at UTMB in Galveston, Texas. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 8, 1959 to Lillie Lee Watts and Paul Watts. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1978. Melinda worked as a sales representative for State Farm Insurance Company for 18 years. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of Lamplighter Baptist. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Watts and her sister, Brenda Watts. She is survived by her husband, Don "Duck" Hebert of Port Arthur, Texas, her daughters, Lana Speyrer Lawrence of Houston, Texas, Kasey Doiron and husband Adam of Port Arthur, Texas, Katrina Avinger and husband Thomas of Katy, Texas, her father and step-mother, Paul and Joan Watts of Port Arthur, Texas, her sister, Tara Dowden of Port Arthur, Texas, her brothers, Paul A. Watts III and wife Karen of Groves, Texas, Larry Dowden and wife Laverne of Austin, Texas, Randy Dowden and wife Mitzi of Spring, Texas along with six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

I was so sorry to learn about Melinda's death when I called Lori Dishon's office this morning. Melinda was always helpful when I called or came into the office and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed.

To Melinda's Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Melinda was such a sweet person and I am sorry we lost contact over the years. I would love the opportunity to get to know each of you. I recall babysitting Melinda when she was a girl of 8 or so. Trying to keep up with her and the other five children gave me a run for my money. They were all so full of energy. I will truly miss Melinda, she and I have known each other since State Farm and Randy Fontenot, She was so sweet and supportive of me last year....we shared MS together and she truly cared and checked on me.
