Esperanza Alvarez passed away at the Sr. Rehab Center Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was born May 10, 1903 in Spain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Alvarez; two sons, Joe and Jessie Perez. She is survived by her daughter Mary Borgobello; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Drs. Arcala for their exceptional care in her last days and also Odyssey Hospice.

I remember having a sit down visit with her when she was about 102 I think. We were pen pals for awhile until it got hard for her. She was still so sharp witted and clear headed. She gave me my only picture of my great grandfather Manual. May she rest easy, as she has earned it.
