Roy Schexenider April 28, 1920 - April 3, 2012

Roy Schexenider Roy Schexenider, 91 of Groves passed from this life into Eternal Glory Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. He was born April 28, 1920 near Crowley, Louisiana. Mr. Schexenider was a United States Marine Corps veteran having proudly served his country in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He participated in the capture and defense of Guadalcanal, capture of Cape Gloucester and New Guinea and was a Life Member of VFW Post 4820 in Port Neches. Roy retired from Gulf Oil Refinery in Port Arthur in 1982 with 30 years of service. Mr. Schexenider was a member of First Baptist Church Groves, loved his family and enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 6 brothers and wife Jean Schexenider of 52 years Roy is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mabel Schexenider, daughter, Ramelle and husband Gene Browning of Bridge City, son, Richard and wife Laura Schexenider of Mont Belvieu, and daughter Donna and husband Jim Farmer of Mont Belvieu. He has 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
