James E. Adams March 20, 1929 - May 28, 2012

James E. "Jimmy" Adams, of Friendswood, Texas passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2012. He was 83 years old. He was born on March 20, 1929 in Port Arthur, TX and lived in PA/Groves area for over 77 years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High Class of 47. He attended LSU, UL, graduated Lamar Univ. Business 1959. He retired from Texaco, Port Arthur after 35 years. Served as Secretary Treasurer O.P.E.I.U Local 66. A member of St. Peter and Mary Queen Catholic Churches. He served as first president of the St Peter's Parish Board, awarded Bishops Medal. He was a50-year member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion. A US Army veteran of the Korean War and devoted to veteran causes. He preceded in death,and now happily reunited with his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley Ann, and his dear parents C.J. "Jimmy" and Regina Adams. He is survived by his son, and daughter-in law, Mark and Stephanie Adams, and grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, and Alexis Adams of Friendswood, TX, and grandson Nick and his wife, Joan Adams of Seattle, WA. His son, Tim Adams, Sonia Adams and granddaughter Caroline Adams of Coppell. And daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and James Miller of Bridge City, grandchildren Jason & his wife Courtney Miller, Amy & her husband Zak Everman and one great- grandson, Bennett Everman. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was one of a kind, friendly to all and will be greatly missed.
